‼️ The salary for this role is between $100-120k with equity from a series-A company and is remote where employees come to the office a few times a year
ABOUT THE ROLE
The CPA - Tax and Compliance will be a vital member of our tax team. As one of our first members on the team, you will get to wear multiple hats and work on interesting tax-related problems that have the ability to influence how Americans get paid.
SOME THINGS YOU MAY BE WORKING ON
- Auditing Zeal's tax product to ensure that tax filings and payments are accurate
- Reading tax-related materials with the aim of condensing it for our team of engineers to understand and embed into our products road map
- Help craft tax process design and from time to time you may be responsible for manually filing tax reports
- Communicate with governmental authorities to fulfill reporting agent requirements and assist in client issues.
- Find tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings
- Keep up-to-date with tax changes and industry trends by participating in educational opportunities, participating in professional organizations, keeping up with professional networks and reading professional publications
- Advise management about the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies or new tax laws
YOU HAVE
- You have worked as a CPA for one full fiscal year
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and procedures
- Awesome communication skills and you don't mind chatting with clients about tax related concepts from time to time
- Strong ability to research and synthesize complex tax laws to the lay person
- Computer literacy (G-suite, Slack, Excel, Jira, etc)
