Skills & Experience
- PhD in computational biology-related fields (e.g., computer science, bioinformatics, systems modeling, statistics) or related scientific discipline, with significant experience developing and applying computational models to biological data.
- Demonstrated scientific understanding of molecular and systems biology, diverse molecular data types, and analysis tools and computational fluency.
- Solid foundations in applied math and machine learning to digest computational research from inside and outside of biology.
- Strong programming and scripting skills: 1) preferably in R or Python and 2) experience with version control, documentation, testing, and the data science ecosystem
- Fast learner, analytical thinker, creative.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English at both a technical and scientific level.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Nice to haves
- Experience developing and applying models on metabolomics data, specifically targeted/untargeted metabolomics data
- Experience with other omics (epigenomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, genomics, etc.), and medical data types (imaging, etc.).
- Experience with cloud computing.
- Interest in learning any of the above (very fast).
