Fleetzero is hiring a Battery Systems Engineer who will be responsible for the design and integration of high voltage battery management systems across a fast-paced and highly iterative development process. Fleetzero's development process involves rapid development, testing, and iteration of systems to maintain and broaden our technical moat.
This engineer will be responsible for the design and continuous development of Fleetzero's Battery Management Systems (BMS), including integration with broader power/energy management systems and battery pack subsystems (thermal, fire prevention/response, balancing, monitoring SOC/SOH, etc).
Valued Skills and Experience
- Experience with Li-ion battery systems and various cell chemistries
- Knowledgeable of embedded system design including schematic development, component selection, circuit design, and testing
- Understanding of grid-tied and microgrid power engineering theory and practice
- Working knowledge of international codes and standards related to power and battery system design (UL, IEC, ASME, ANSI, SAE, ABS, DNV, etc)
- Proficient in electrical design CAD packages
- Experience with inverters, transformers, electrical panels, and other power distribution equipment
- Experience with taking medium scale projects through the NRTL field certification and UL process
- Strong mathematical background and proficiency in statistical analysis
- Ability to use oscilloscopes, DVMs, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc.
- Understanding of project schedule and budget development and maintenance
- Experience in new-product introduction and scale to manufacturing -Any marine experience, especially marine power generation and distribution
