The AWS Startup team is seeking an experienced, self-directed Strategy & Operations leader to join an organization that is responsible for driving adoption of the AWS platform by startups globally
In this role, you will be leading a central team of Program Managers, Business Analysts and GTM Strategy/ Operations Managers to identify, develop and execute initiatives across APJ to better serve the startup customers. These initiatives will span from accelerating global startup programs in APJ to driving regional programs, building insightful business intelligence dashboards and reporting tool to driving data-driven sales campaigns, and supporting different operational aspects of the APJ team such as monthly reporting, team cadence, resource planning, adhoc data requests, etc. This will require working closely with multiple startup focused (mostly internal) stakeholders including sales, technical, business development teams across APJ. You must be able to relate to the startup sales experience, have an innate understanding for entrepreneurs, startup founders and technical decision makers, and be passionate about helping build new ideas for startup community. Ideally, you are someone who has had experience as a strategy consultant to startups or driven data-driven operations for cross-functional teams. You should be able to articulate your thoughts and proposals in the form of business narratives, keeping it data backed and with a clear story line. You should be comfortable working with high level problem statements with limited clarity to begin with. You must be able to work with and influence different teams across organizations to work towards common objectives and metrics.
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead a startup focused cross-functional team to identify, develop and execute initiatives across APJ to better serve the startup customers
Drive startup programs, business intelligence dashboards and operations management to support the APJ Startup team.
Research and ideate potential solutions to high level problem statements. Put together detailed business plans in the form of written narratives on the plan of action.
Manage the entire lifecycle of the initiatives you are responsible for, including showing operations success and developing on further iterations.
Drive initiatives to improve the productivity of the APJ Startup cross-functional team.
Put together robust business dashboards, tracking mechanisms and data-driven sales campaigns.
Basic Qualifications
MBA or equivalent relevant business experience.
7-10+ years of operations management or strategy consulting experience with startups
Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must.
Operational savviness, ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously, keeping focus on execution and delivering results consistently.
Proven ability to work cooperatively with various teams, including business development, operations, sales and technical teams.
Strong analytical skills, with excellent problem-solving abilities in the face of ambiguity
Preferred Qualifications
Operational experience at a startup, preferably as a founder or in a business, strategy role.
Experience writing business proposals, blogs, news articles, etc.
Passionate about technology and with some exposure to AWS platform
