Job Purpose:

As an Accounting and Tax Associate, you will be assisting with managing relationship and securing contracts with international subcontractors, analysing margin, verifying scope and assist the Accounting and tax service team with engagements.

In a nutshell, providing support to the Accounting & Tax Department and Renewal / Billing Department to formalise business proposals and complete Client's renewal engagements.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Assisting to project manage complex book-keeping, audit and other engagements for our multi-national Clients’;
  • To timely, accurately and completely discharge multi-national Clients’ legal, accounting, audit, and tax obligations including reporting obligations in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, USA, Japan, New Zealand and so on;
  • Research accounting and taxation filing obligations including interaction with multiple government agencies. While completing the above, liaising with global law and accounting firms;
  • Establishing, maintaining and (when applicable) terminating business relationships with the suppliers and affiliated partners;
  • Assessing the ability of the suppliers to supply those services in a satisfactory manner, in compliance with regulations and our organisation's standard of service;
  • Preparing high quality quotation which will be subsequently used by our Inhouse Accounting team to issue an invoice. Quotation should include i) detailed summary of services ii) detailed description of each service iii) margin calculation iv) upcoming government filing deadlines;
  • Skilfully negotiate and agree on the fees and terms with our international subcontractors;
  • Secure agreements with new service providers and replacing existing contracts providing low quality service;
  • Draft high quality emails and communicate with Clients in a professional manner following our organisation’s standards;

Skills and Experience

  • Has excellent command of English written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic tax & accounting and compliance knowledge;
  • Strong understanding of regulatory filing obligations for commercial companies in 2-3 countries;
  • Prior work experience in Audit / Assurance / Consulting / Billing / Account Receivables / Debt collection is an advantage;
  • Candidates who are also fluent in at least one additional language including Arabic, Spanish, German, Russian or Chinese will be favourably viewed - will need to liaise with international client, suppliers and government organisation;
  • Having an ACCA certification is an advantage.
