Check out this Loom video on the Account Executive role for a bit more insight into what we do and why we are hiring!
Don't even call unless you are an overachiever and can prove it.
Come build an empire within our young, progressive company.
We are in the Maritime industry, but we do not hire backgrounds. We hire top producers. If you're a good performer, you can earn US$150,000 with us. If you are a star, you can earn US$ 300,000 plus. Young or old if you have the stuff, we will know.
If you have hit a ceiling, and you want to develop the sales function in a high-growth business and earn the right to be our Head of Sales, then see the next steps outlined at the bottom of this description.
Our average contract size is US$100K a year, there are 3,000 clients in our marketplace and our product produces between 10-20X Return on Investment for our clients.
Our philosophy on hiring is to hire the best people we can and to keep the team compact. It is not for everyone. There are no free laptops/swag (we prefer to spend the money on salaries) and the main reason we work together is that we are an execution-focused team who want to deliver life-changing products to users in the nascent market for maritime technology.
Who are we?
Greywing is a maritime intelligence tool that enables ship managers to conduct operations and save thousands of dollars by providing actionable insight into the decisions they make. Simply put, we process hundreds of thousands of points of information about a vessel to tell them where it should go and what it should do.
We are backed by the people at Y Combinator, Instacart, Gumroad, Flexport, and work with the world's largest ship managers and operators to make the global shipping network more efficient while protecting the people who make sure our world runs smoothly.
In the past year, we've conducted charter flight operations for vessels calling at Singapore, helped evacuate wounded crew that would not have been possible otherwise, and saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in wasted fuel and resources.

Why we need you
With our clients we have been reimagining what vessel operations will look like in the future. We can see a huge opportunity to help our clients and to give seafarers more autonomy over their lives.
Maritime software is still in its infancy. Do a quick Google and you'll see that interfaces look like they were designed on FrontPage in 2008 - and this is the state across the ecosystem. Decisions that govern millions of dollars in cargo and hundreds of thousands of tons of iron and steel are made through excel sheets, email, and pencil and paper. We have a rare opportunity to lay down how maritime will interact digitally for the next decade, if we get this right.
We need someone who can guide our customers through the sales process and enable them to see the 10-20X return on investment they can achieve with investment in Greywing technology. This is a new journey into digitalisation for many of them and they need someone they can trust to advise them on whether the Greywing solution is right for them.
The Team
We are a team of 6, including the founders, with four in Engineering and two in the business side. You won't find any mid-level performers here. Our approach to bringing team members into Greywing is to look for those people we believe (or feel threatened by) who can replace us.
Our CEO is a former Royal Marine Commando that has built a business in maritime from nothing to 4 million in turnover.
Our CTO has published multiple papers across technology, from Formal verification in cryptocurrencies, human-computer interaction, embedded glucose monitoring to baseline optimization in chemistry and physics. He has also built software and hardware serving hundreds of thousands of users across southeast Asia, in fintech, insurtech, robotics, for companies like National Geographic, Ethereum, and SGX.
Details
