Role Overview

We’re seeking a Senior AI Product Designer/Product Manager to craft user experiences driven by advanced AI. You’ll work at the intersection of design, engineering, and biotech R&D. You’ll ensure AI-based features are intuitive, beautiful, and truly helpful to scientists. You will also lead the end to end product management lifecycle by making sure every feature is delivered with Quality. You will manage junior product designer and two QA folks on the team.

We want someone who can prototype in Figma or code and who isn’t afraid to get hands-on. Ideally a candidate should have had some front end engineering or React experience. Candidate should also be very familiar with vibe coding.

As a Product Designer/Manager, you should be comfortable with Figma, Replit, or any other interface design tools. Along with designing UI and improving the UX, you should know Javascript or React so you can quickly prototype to test the feasibility of design. You should also be a team player with a knack for visual design and utility. Given that we are still a startup, we are looking for self-starters and self-motivated candidates who not only possess the technical abilities necessary for the role, but also are able to think big picture and long-term. Any experience in Generative AI UX will be a plus.

You will not only grow your design skill but will also learn a cutting edge AI front and back end in this position.

Key Responsibilities

1. AI-Driven UX & Visual Design
   • Create engaging interfaces for our AI features, including multi-agent workflows.
   • Simplify complex lab tasks into intuitive layouts and user flows.
   • Collaborate with AI engineers to design interfaces that handle real-time data and dynamic outputs.
   • Deliver success for Scispot AI agents such as Proto, Plato, Scibot, etc
2. Prototyping & Testing
   • Build quick prototypes in Figma/React/Replit/Cursor to validate ideas and technical feasibility
   • Run user tests with scientists to gather feedback.
   • Iterate rapidly based on data and user behavior.
   • Managing junior designers and QA
3. Integration with Scispot Tech Stack
   • Understand our backend (Node, Java, Python) and AI stack
   • Align front-end prototypes (React) with the existing API and microservices based architecture.
   • Collaborate on containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) to ensure designs function at scale.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
   • Work with computational biologists and wet-lab scientists to capture domain insights.
   • Contribute design inputs to data pipelines (OpenSearch, MongoDB, CosmosDB).
   • Ensure a consistent user experience across web app, data dashboards, and AI agent interfaces.
5. Product Strategy & Leadership
   • Measure your success with stickiness of the features
   • Mentor junior designers or engineers on best practices in user-centric design.

Requirements

1. AI Product Design Experience
   • 3+ years designing software that leverages AI or data.
   • Solid track record turning user needs into compelling design solutions.
2. Prototyping & Basic Engineering
   • Comfortable in Figma or similar design tools. Ideally comfortable with AI dev tools such as Replit to prototype the design rather than using Figma
   • Some knowledge of React or other front-end frameworks.
   • Ability to tinker with code for rapid prototyping.
3. User-Centric Mindset
   • Ability to gather feedback from scientists and biotech experts.
   • Skilled at translating technical AI workflows into intuitive experiences.
4. Collaboration & Communication
   • Fluent in cross-functional teamwork.
   • Great at presenting design rationale to engineers and product teams.
