Our success depends on a reliable, secure, and scalable backend that powers consumer-facing experiences and partner integrations. As a Backend Engineer at Palla, you will own and evolve meaningful portions of our backend systems as we add new payment rails, expand into new corridors, and launch new product capabilities.

What You’ll Do

• Design, implement, and maintain core backend services and infrastructure
• Build and operate APIs used by internal teams and external financial partners
• Collaborate closely with product, frontend, compliance, and partner teams to deliver reliable end-to-end payment flows
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to long-term technical direction

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience building backend systems in Go or a similar modern programming language
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with AWS or a comparable cloud provider
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Solid understanding of backend and object-oriented programming best practices
• Working proficiency in written and spoken English

Compensation

Salary Range: $90,000 – $150,000 base (+ equity)

Hiring Process

1. Application
2. Initial conversation (30 minutes, video call)
3. Take-home exercise (3–6 hours, async)
4. Exercise review with senior engineers (1 hour, video call)
5. Final conversations with leadership (2–3 × 30-minute video calls)
