About Distro
Distro is the AI Revenue Platform for sales reps in the industrial distribution industry. Our platform helps reps quote faster, close more business, and improve margins, all while delivering a superior customer experience.
We’re a well-funded, venture-backed and Y Combinator-backed (S24) startup with strong traction and growing customer demand. Our goal is to modernize a massive industry that has historically been underserved by software.
About the Role
We’re hiring a Technical Product Manager to become the operational and technical backbone of Distro’s product development process. You’ll report directly to our Founder & CEO and work closely with engineering, design, and customer success to ensure the right work is prioritized, executed, and shipped, reliably and at high velocity.
This is not a “visionary” product role. Distro already has a clear vision and a fast-moving technical team. What we need is a high-ownership, technically fluent operator who brings focus, clarity, and accountability to execution. You’ll sit at the center of the product, translating ideas and inputs into a clear, prioritized roadmap and then ensuring that roadmap turns into releases our customers feel.
You’ll act as the hub across key inputs:
- Customer Success → customer requests, bugs, and feedback
- Design → new features and UX improvements
- Engineering → technical debt and platform health
- Sales → sales enablement and demo-driven priorities
Your job is to integrate these streams, make tradeoffs, and drive Distro’s product pipeline from idea to release — with precision and discipline.
What You’ll Do
- Own prioritization, planning, and release management across all product workstreams.
- Be the Linear czar: maintain structure, enforce process, and continuously improve how we plan, track, and ship.
- Translate inputs from multiple stakeholders into a clear, sequenced roadmap that balances customer impact, engineering efficiency, and strategic goals.
- Manage the end-to-end release process, including readiness, QA coordination, and cross-team communication.
- Establish and enforce high standards for product quality, reliability, and delivery speed.
- Proactively identify bottlenecks, misalignments, and process gaps, and fix them before they become problems.
- Serve as the connective tissue between engineering and product: fluent in technical tradeoffs, comfortable reading code or PRs, and able to earn engineers’ respect through technical understanding.
- Track product metrics and progress, communicating updates to the CEO and key stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
- 6+ years of experience in product or technical program management, ideally at early-stage or high-growth startups.
- Previous software development experience: you’ve written production code before, even if you’re not coding daily now.
- Strong understanding of software development workflows and product release cycles.
- Deep familiarity with Linear (or similar systems like Jira, Asana, GitHub Projects) and a track record of using these tools to create order and momentum.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills: you bring clarity, accountability, and a sense of calm to fast-moving environments.
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset. You see around corners, act without waiting for instruction, and keep your word.
- Comfort working directly with engineers, designers, and leadership to make real-time tradeoffs and decisions.
- Experience with React/Next.js, TypeScript, or MongoDB environments is a plus.
How We Work
- This is an in-person role based in Palo Alto.
- We’re in office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, Wednesdays are remote.
- Every engineer at Distro is an individual contributor writing production code.
- We prioritize speed, accountability, and strong cross-functional collaboration.
- Note: We are currently unable to provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Why Join
You’ll be joining Distro at a formative stage with real customers, real traction, and a clear path to growth. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape how Distro executes as we scale. If you thrive in technical environments, crave ownership, and want to be the person who makes things happen, we’d love to meet you.
