About Ergo

Ergo turns every customer conversation—across Zoom, email, Slack, and phone—into structured CRM data, proactive follow-ups, and real-time revenue insights. We free sales teams from busywork so they can focus on relationships and closing deals.

Why This Role Exists

We’ve proven product–market fit with early reference customers and are now scaling our platform to handle massive data volumes and increasingly complex AI-driven workflows. As our next Software Engineer, you’ll be scaling the software and building the agents that make Ergo faster, smarter, and capable of serving thousands of users in real time.

What You’ll Tackle

  • Scaling Core Services: Architect and scale data ingestion pipelines and APIs to handle millions of daily events across calls, emails, and messages.
  • Advanced Agent Development: Build agents that handle complex sales tasks, such as follow-ups, CRM updates, and insight generation, even across highly customized setups and diverse sales stacks.
  • Full-Stack Development: Ship user-facing features in our user dashboard and build integrations with existing sales and business tools.
  • Collaboration & Product Impact: Work directly with founders and customers to scope features, gather feedback, and iterate quickly.

You Might Be a Fit If You

  • Bring 1+ years of experience building and scaling production-grade software
  • You have built AI products for real customers in a team using Javascript, Python, the OpenAI/Claude/Gemini APIs
  • You’re interested in solving complex AI search and retrieval problems, designing systems that surface the right information in real time
  • Thrive in ambiguity, enjoy building from zero to one, and bias toward action
  • Move in fast-paced, early-stage environments where speed and adaptability matter
  • Can design systems that scale from first prototype to thousands of users
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate well with technical and non-technical teammates
  • Love learning fast, picking up new tools, frameworks, and approaches as needed

You Might Not Be a Fit If You

  • Are looking for a 9-5: the team typically works all day with breaks, dedicated time for meals, and excersize. It is also common to work into the night.
  • Need extensive handholding: everyone on the team is doing critical work for the business. Of course guidance and feedback will be provided, though we value high agency for matters which may be able to be solved without pulling someone else in.
  • Aren’t comfortable optimizing for speed: sometimes this means creative hacky/messy solutions.
  • Don’t like working with others: The team sits and works together all day. It’s quite frequent to be asked for input, given feedback, and progress.
  • Are uncomfortable with a young team

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with sales, RevOps, or CRM-related tooling.
  • Exposure to real-time data processing or high-volume ingestion pipelines.
  • Interest in AI agents, LLMs, and RAG

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary plus meaningful equity.
  • Executive membership at the Bayclubs
