Helicone: Observability for LLM Apps
We help developers and businesses build, monitor, and optimize their LLM applications. Hundreds of AI teams, from startups to enterprises, trust us to scale their workflows.
We're a small, driven team in San Francisco focused on autonomy, speed, and results through collaboration rather than bureaucracy.
The Role: Founding GTM Hire
You’ll shape how Helicone grows as one of the leading LLM observability platforms. Work directly with Cole (CTO) and Lina (Founding Designer) to:
-
Run experiments: Test growth channels, build technical examples, optimize SEO/content, and launch campaigns (like our LLM cost calculator or 3D-printed mini-macs).
-
Own the developer experience: Improve docs, onboarding, SDKs, sample applications, integration examples, and tools to help developers succeed.
-
Drive adoption: Sometimes that means hosting meetups; other times, it’s scrappy outreach to YC founders.
This role offers opportunities to develop systems, mentor future team members, and grow alongside the company.
We Want Someone Who
-
Has Technical Ability: You can code well enough to build LLM demos and integration examples. While you don't need to be a senior engineer, you should be comfortable with Python/TypeScript and working with APIs/LLMs.
-
Thinks like a founder: You identify opportunities and test ideas quickly while owning outcomes.
-
Codes and writes clearly: You can build examples and explain technical concepts to developers without jargon.
-
Cares about users: You’ll talk to customers, troubleshoot friction points, improve documentation, and advocate for their needs.
-
Can represent Helicone: Whether at events or on socials, you'll help build trust in our brand.
Nice to have (not required):
- Experience building LLM applications or working in early stage startups
- Created viral content or led campaigns for technical products.
Why You'll Love It Here
-
Your ideas matter: No "this is how we've always done it" energy
-
Autonomy: Lead projects with support rather than oversight
-
Radical transparency: We share metrics, mistakes, and hard questions openly
-
Team: SF-based collaboration 4-5 days/week with people who care deeply but don't take themselves too seriously
-
Fun: Offsites (think Redwoods hikes, bowling, nerding out at tech museums), snacks, and zero pointless meetings.
