The SRE role is essential to Vapi’s success because it ensures our real-time distributed systems remain robust, scalable, and reliable, enabling us to effectively bridge decades-old telecommunications infrastructure with modern AI models. Your work directly impacts our ability to meet increasing market demand and provide seamless voice AI experiences to users worldwide.
Outcomes
- Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 availability and rapid incident response.
- Ensure 99.99% system uptime and reliability for our real-time distributed infrastructure.
- Automate infrastructure management, reducing deployment and recovery times significantly.
- Optimize real-time system performance, enabling seamless integration with AI models.
- Establish robust incident response protocols, minimizing downtime and impact of production issues.
- Build infrastructure and processes that scale effectively with rapid company growth.

Qualifications
- Proven experience with distributed systems, real-time infrastructure, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Go, Bash).
- Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
- Self-starter: You proactively identify and execute the highest-value tasks.
- Bonus: Previous experience as a technical founder in a B2B SaaS company or telecom background.
