Director of Customer Success

About the Role
As the Director of Customer Success at Capitol AI, you'll be the driving force behind successful enterprise API implementations and thriving client relationships. You'll own the entire client lifecycle, from initial sales support and proposal writing to technical integration and ongoing success. You should be highly organized and accel at scheduling and documentation, as well as the translation of complex technical concepts for business stakeholders. Some experience with software, API integrations, and project management tools is required, and you should already be leveraging generative AI tools in your current work. To excel in this role, you must possess exceptional organizational skills, demonstrate proficiency in scheduling and documentation, and effectively translate intricate technical concepts for business stakeholders. Prior experience with software, API integrations, and project management tools is essential, coupled with the active utilization of generative AI tools in your current professional endeavors. Key Responsibilities

• Project Management: Develop and execute detailed project plans for API implementations, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
• Client Communication: Lead client meetings, conduct product demos, and serve as the primary point of contact throughout the integration process.
• Sales Support: Collaborate with Capitol’s founders to create compelling proposals, respond to RFPs, and address technical questions from potential clients.
• Technical Coordination: Work closely with internal engineering teams to ensure smooth API integrations and troubleshoot any technical challenges.
• Relationship Building: Foster strong, long-term relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and advocate.
• Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of client interactions, project progress, and technical specifications.
• Voice of the Customer: Live and breathe the needs of the customer, and translate those needs in simple ways to Capitol’s engineers and designers.

Qualifications

• Proven Experience: 3+ years of experience in a client-facing role, ideally involving software implementation, API integrations, or project management.
• Technical Aptitude: A solid understanding of software development and API concepts. You can confidently discuss technical topics with both developers and business stakeholders.
• Project Management Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Communication & Presentation Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex information. You are optimistic, fun, and creative. 
• AI Proficiency: You're already leveraging generative AI tools in your day-to-day work and understand their transformative potential.
• Passion for Media: A genuine interest in the media landscape and the challenges facing publishers in the age of AI.

Bonus Points

• Experience working with media companies or products that sell data / expert analysis. 
• Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana).
• Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
