VP Finance

We are building the next generation creative studio, powered by the most capable video and image foundational models. We are creating the place where generative image and video experiences will be built.

We’re a small team of young & hungry researchers, and have raised close to $100m from world class investors including Khosla Ventures & YCombinator. We released our first model nine months ago, quickly becoming the fastest growing AI product on Discord since Midjourney with over 100,000 users in 6 weeks.

Reporting to our CEO. We’re looking for a VP of Finance to join our leadership team and help scale our Finance, BizOps, and People functions. This role is fully remote (preference will be given to US or UK based candidates).

Responsibilities

Here are some examples of what you might work on as VP of Finance at our company:

• Develop and manage key financial processes, including forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and stakeholder financial deliverables.

• Create financial commentaries and documents to support key financial deliverables.

• Develop new processes or improve existing processes relating to financial planning/reporting.

• Develop metrics to track team-specific and company-wide trends, identify opportunities, provide recommendations, and collaborate globally.

• Support ad-hoc projects and analysis to identify systems improvements, cost savings, and growth.

• Apply an analytical approach to influence strategic decision-making, with a focus on capital allocation and long-term financial planning.

• Lead the development of Moonvalley’s financial systems.

• Evaluate merger and acquisition opportunities as needed.

• Own the overall company financial model and partner closely with Moonvalley leadership to set financial expectations and help tell our story through numbers.

• Partner with all operational teams on all aspects of the business that impact our financial outlook, collaborating with teams across Moonvalley, its leadership team, and the Board.

• Build foundational capabilities in Analytics and BizOps to ensure alignment with financial goals and operational efficiency.

• Lead the People Organization to drive talent strategy, culture, and HR processes in alignment with company goals.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role should possess:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or other relevant field.

• 7+ years’ experience in investment banking, M&A, or related fields.

• 7+ years’ experience working in a fast-growing, venture-backed tech startup (SaaS strongly preferred).

• Experience scaling an organization from Seed to Series C.

• Experience leading adjacent People and BizOps functions.

• Experience building, leading, and developing a team.

• Experience leading complex work streams.

• Excellent proficiency in accounting and corporate finance concepts.

• Familiarity with financial planning processes and financial systems.
