Wunderman Thompson Tokyo is looking for a Digital Strategist who will work across an exciting range of areas, interacting and closely working with the strategy, customer experience, technology, commerce, and creative teams. This person will be primarily reporting to the WT Tokyo Head of Strategic Planning.

Digital Strategist will shape client agenda on digital marketing and growth by developing specific marketing strategies and transformation initiatives that accelerate customer acquisition and customer value across channels, working together with teams of different disciplines such as data analytics, technology, and customer experience.

What you’ll do

  • Help our clients to multiply their growth via implementing best-in-class digital marketing and personalization, enabled by data and technology.
  • Develop specific marketing strategies and transformation initiatives that accelerate customer acquisition, customer nurturing, and customer value across channels.
  • Lead campaign operations across multiple channels and products applying the latest digital knowledge, tools, and technologies that improve and optimize the campaign effectiveness.
  • Assess client capabilities and performance in digital marketing, identifying actionable insights, translating them into strategic initiatives, and managing their implementation.
  • Build optimization recommendations, contribute to the strategies and solutions for marketing technology in the client organization, coaching client staff around campaign operation within the ad-tech and mar-tech platforms.
  • Contribute to defining the implications to the client operating model, new roles and organizational implications, and operating processes.

Who you are

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience executing and leading digital marketing programs for digital marketing agencies, internet companies, or client marketing organizations.
  • Experience in leading campaign operations across multiple channels and products preferable in e-commerce, marketplace, or E-commerce arm of retail companies.
  • Deep expertise and knowledge in digital strategy, omnichannel, digital culture, and agile process.
  • Knowledge of SEO, SEM, Programmatic, UX, CRO, Mobile and Digital Analytics, Service design.
  • Hands-on experience in digital media planning, tracking, and conversion funnel optimization.
  • Experience working with digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Optimizely, etc.
  • Experience utilizing first and third-party data for segmentation, audience creation, targeting, and personalization.
  • Good level of technical knowledge in nearly all digital marketing disciplines: Traffic generation (Search Marketing, display, programmatic, etc); UX, A/B testing; Email marketing; Social Media Management.
  • Strategy oriented, with deep expertise in business and wide knowledge in enterprise management, and superior level of problem-solving.
  • Ability to inspire and communicate with a wide range of non-technical and low technology literacy stakeholders and customers.
  • Ability to influence and be a natural leader to manage the internal team and coordinate the multidisciplinary external teams in complex client environments.
  • Business level proficiency for both Japanese and English.
  • Excellent player as an individual as well as a positive influencer in a team.
  • Work in a collaborative environment, team-oriented, communication skills, and presentation skills.
