We focus on excelling dedicated students who are determined and have a passion for creativity. You'll get to play on some of the finest instruments in the DC area, including a Model D Concert Grand Steinway. SCM doesn't just teach students, we develop individual artistry. Occasionally, workshops are held pertaining to stage performance, audio engineering, music marketing, and more. We are expanding our operations and adding locations. With Sterling Conservatory of Music, you set your own schedule, get paid weekly, we handle all the client billing, and you use your own lesson plans, methods, and teaching styles.
We focus on private lessons, which consist of individually tailored instruction and planning. Our instructors are highly specialized in Classical Piano and hold advanced performance degrees from top international conservatories. We also host fully-catered group performance soirées, galas, and special events. Our students range from ages 5 to 80 years old, from beginners to advanced levels.
A variety of styles may be covered depending on each student's interests/instructor recommendation: Classical Piano, Composition, Contemporary Music, Improvisation, Covers, Jazz Fundamentals, Songwriting, and Music Technology. Music Theory is integrated into the lessons according to the student's stylistic area of focus.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Preferably a Master's Degree of Music or higher (Bachelor of Music Degree or Artist Diploma from an Accredited School of Music may be considered)
- Ability to teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced students of Piano
- Must enjoy working with all ages
- Full-time employment opportunity after 2 years
- Ability to work 20 hrs per week minimum
- Mandatory background check
