What if you could play your favourite PC games in virtual reality?
That's exactly what CLOVR, a new company specializing in virtual reality products aims to achieve.
Founded by Gan Chee Yong, Lee Yew Chun, and Albert Quek, CLOVR is a mobile app that takes existing PC games, converts them into VR-ready format, and transmits them to your phone via WiFi.
All the user has to do is mount their phone onto any compatible VR headset and begin experiencing VR gaming on the fly.
Not only does this allow anyone to experience a wide array of existing content, this can all be done without the need of expensive hardware.
According to the team behind CLOVR, the best types of games to enjoy in VR are first person shooter games and role playing games.
Experiencing gaming content from a first person point-of-view gives the most immersive and lifelike effect.
With the help of current Chief Business Development, Jan Wong (also founder of OpenMinds Resources), CLOVR is set to be unveiled globally in the upcoming month.
“We wanted to make VR affordable and accessible to everyone. Most of the current VRgear and software arejust too expensive, which is why we came up with a solution tomake VR available to the masses.” Said Gan, the founder of CLOVR
The CLOVR mobile app will soon be available for download on both iOS and Android. Interested parties can easily register their interest via the CLOVR website.
The company also announced that they will be launching a Kickstarter campaign the coming 6th March for 60 days with a funding goal of SGD 5,000.
