Singapore rose two places YoY to rank second globally on the 2018 edition of the Henley Passport Index, thanks to its visa-free access to 176 countries.
According to a press release, Singapore also remains the best-performing country in the region, achieving its highest ranking on the index in 10 years.
The Lion City beat eight countries which are tied in third place, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Japan, Norway, Sweden, and the UK, which offer access to 175 countries.
Germany took the top spot in the index, offering its citizens access to 177 countries.
Countries in Southeast Asia have remained stable.
Malaysia ranks 2nd in the region, and 12th globally, with Malaysian nationals enjoying visa-free access to 166 countries.
The index has historical data for 13 years. The rankings are based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
