DoctorOnCall, Malaysia's online medical clinic and pharmacy emerged the winner of the NTT Communications Startup Challenge 2018 Malaysia. The competition was held on 11th October at MaGIC headquarters.
According to NTT, the top 10 startups selected out of the 350 applications were SmartPeep (who won best marketing award), MallDash (who won best innovation award), Tanahmu Aplikasi, MBack Pay, Favoriot, Upal, Glueck Technologies, CapitalBay, and Wonderland Technologies. Each startup was given 4 minutes to pitch and 2 minutes for judges Q&A.

Winners received prizes of USD 10,000 in ICT facilities from NTT Communications, free co-working space membership at Common Ground (sponsored by MDEC), free marketing courses from Next Academy, and a sponsored trip to Japan to discuss strategic partnerships with NTT Communications Japan.
The NTT Com Startup Challenge 2018 provided a platform for startups to network with top speakers, investors, as well as their peers, providing valuable insights and experiences through the panel discussions that took place alongside the competition.
Some of the special guests included Brendan Rakphongphairoj, CEO of Qontak, Norhizam Abdul Kadir, VP of Growth Ecosystem Development at MDEC, Audrey Ling – CEO of Next Academy and Bryan Chung – Director of Investments of Mountain Partners Malaysia.
The NTT Communications Startup Challenge 2018 will be continue in Vietnam on 22nd of November 2018.
