For individuals and startups keen on getting involved in the property-technology space, this upcoming hackathon might just be something totally worth exploring.

Organized by Igloohome and District 6 co-working space, “Hood Disrupt” is the region’s first of it’s kind Property Technology-based (Proptech) Hackathon that will be held in Singapore.

The initiative is supported by international property developers and sponsors such as JLL, AWS, and DreamIt Ventures, with cash prizes of over SGD$5000 and exclusive passes to the Urban Summit global conference in the USA.

Derived from the idea of “Disrupting the neighbourHood”, the 3-day hackathon will highlight themes focused around property financing + management, mortgage loans, architecture and construction, smart living, and the shared economy.

Throughout the duration of the hackathon, industry mentors will be assigned to guide teams as they work on their products, services and business ideas. AWS cloud credits will also be provided together with APIs and IoT buttons for developers to work with should they wish to develop new software & hardware solutions.

The winning teams will be judged by the organizers and management teams of JLL, C31 Ventures, CDL, and others. This also serves as a great opportunity for these companies to gain direct access to these large organizations who are able to assist in taking their solutions to the next level.

“JLL is proud to be the main sponsor of the first proptech hackathon in the region. As a leader in real estate, we believe in being part of the larger tech ecosystem, supporting the start-up scene and learning from entrepreneurs and innovators.”, mentioned Chief Operating Officer of JLL APAC, Albert Ovidi

The hackathon welcomes entrepreneurs, developers, and designers who are keen to take their ideas, concepts, and products to the next level and potentially revolutionize the property technology sector.

Igloohome believes that Hood Disrupt will help encourage innovation in the property sector. With strong support from our partners and sponsors, we’re excited to see new solutions developed from the event,” said CEO of igloohome, Anthony Chow.
