Capital A (formerly known as AirAsia) has officially launched its ride-hailing service in Thailand.
"The e-hailing service, airasia ride targets to capture 70% of international tourist arrivals into Bangkok, especially with the reopening of borders" said Nirada Tuckawarut, Head of AirAsia Ride Thailand.
This comes after launching the airasia Super App in Thailand during early February that has seen an increase of 53% in new users, mainly driven by their online travel agency platform.
Thailand is the second country for airasia ride’s Asean expansion, and it will offer taxi rides as part of its first phase of entry into the market as it goes head-to-head with Grab, AllThaiTaxi, and GoBike.
Currently, there are 3,000 drivers registered with airasia ride in Bangkok with plans to recruit more as the service expands to holiday destinations such as Phuket and Chiang Mai.
Tuckawarut added that airasia ride taxi drivers take 100% of the fares they earn, and no booking fees are imposed on the drivers.
