Alibaba's logistics unit, Cainiao Network, has announced the development of the Cainiao Dong Nai Smart Logistics Park.
The establishment will be located in the Dong Nai province of Vietnam.
Key Highlights
- The project spanning over 168,000 square meters in total land area, will provide around 90,000 square meters of warehouse leasing space to fulfill enterprises' supply chain needs.
- The logistics park will operate as a distribution hub and cold chain storage facility.
- Moreover, a bonded warehouse for consolidation will be provided before exporting to international markets.
- The logistics park is strategically located with multiple access to Ho Chi Minh City and is nearby to transportation hubs such as the Long Thanh International Airport and two major seaports, Cat Lai and Cai Mep-Thi Vai.
The increased connectivity and new infrastructure would benefit Dong Nai's core sectors, including furniture, apparel, commodities, and commerce, which frequently use warehouse facilities for their logistical operations.
“We believe that the Cainiao Dong Nai Smart Logistics Park will play a pivotal role in helping businesses to capitalize on Dong Nai’s unique competitive advantages and achieve broader sustainable regional growth,” said Eric Xu, general manager of Cainiao Smart Hub.
With warehouse occupancy levels in Dong Nai expected to reach 95 percent, Xu believes Cainiao's new logistics park would enable firms to fully harness the region's transportation ties and profit on Southeast Asia's booming economy.
Xu added that overcoming the issue of warehouses shortages will help attract foreign investments into the region and strengthen the province of Dong Nai in terms of competitiveness in Vietnam.
