Toybox Creations and Technology (Toy Eight) has been backed by InvestKL Corporation, Kuala Lumpur's leading investment promotion agency, to participate in the Greater Kuala Lumpur (GKL) Live Lab programme.
GKL Live Lab's History
- Launched in April 2021
- Aims to establish Greater Kuala Lumpur as an innovation and ideation smart city
- Also focuses to create high-value and future-ready jobs, and at the same time, enrich the local ecosystem with more sophisticated and complex activities
- A platform for multinational companies to have productive relationships with local education institutions and Malaysian companies is provided via InvestKL’s Business Ecosystem Collaboration (BEC) programme
Toy Eight's Participation
- Connected by Sunway iLabs (iLabs Foundry) to two psychology researchers from Sunway University’s School of Medical and Life Sciences Via GKL Live Lab
- The two psychology researchers, Dr. Woo Pei Jun and Dr. Wo Su Woan, worked closely with Toy Eight’s technical team for 12 weeks
- Is partnering with Sunway University in a programme to build AI assessment tools that addresses the socio-educational issues in Southeast Asia
- Currently developing an AI-based tool that makes developmental assessment accessible for preschoolers via a smartphone
- The tool is designed by an ex-Nintendo game designer and it analyses children's characteristics and strengths at play
- At the same time, rapidly improving the understanding of child developmental levels in different communities and areas
