Artificial Intelligence is on the rise, and many AI startups are aggressively being bought up by tech giants: Apple, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, and Amazon.

According to data compiled by CB Insights, these tech giants have bought a total of 59 AI startups since 2010.

Most of these acquisitions have led to the launch of a new product, or significant enhancements to existing products.

Stiff competition between these tech companies have also led to more aggressive acquisitions taking place in the recent years.

As of right now, Apple is leading with the most number of acquisitions (20), followed by Google (14), Microsoft (10), Facebook (8), and lastly Amazon (7).

With devices becoming more powerful over the years, the true potential of AI is slowly being unlocked, possibly resulting in a larger number of acquisitions in the coming years.
