AWS and Qualcomm to invest in Indonesia

Amazon discussed a realization of its investment plan in Indonesia, which includes the protection of personal data and its support for Indonesia's digital economy.

Amazon also plans to implement a cloud computing skills improvement program designed to help digital transformation in Indonesia.

Qualcomm, known as a multinational semiconductor and telecommunications equipment company, is looking for an opportunity to develop infrastructure for 5G in Indonesia as well as to extend cooperation in other fields of information technology.

The minister invited the companies to invest in Indonesia's $34-billion project to build a new capital city in East Kalimantan.

"One of the keys to becoming a leader in the digital age is infrastructure readiness, including strengthening connectivity through 5G technology," Johnny said.
