Other investors participated in this round are venture capital fund K2 Global and asset management firm KBW Ventures.

Established in 2019, TurtleTree Labs is a Singaporean biotech startup working on recreating dairy milk in laboratory settings.

TurtleTree Labs will use the funding to further build out the company’s scientific team and to create additional prototypes.

The startup claims to be the first biotech company in the world with the ability to create milk from all mammals.

"They are the first company in the world producing real, whole milk from cell cultivation -- which opens the door for safer and healthier dairy products that can be produced with far fewer natural resources," Nick Cooney, founder and managing partner at Lever VC, said.
