Singapore-based EVOS has raised $4.4 million in a Series A round led by Insignia Ventures Partners, a group of angel investors, and China’s e-commerce leaders.
The company will use the new funds to grow its esports entertainment platform, currently managing 50 gaming influencers and 250 esports talent partners — esports influencers play a key role in popularizing the esports live-streaming and content platform.
EVOS provides streaming contracts, brand endorsement deals, and offline event gigs to its influencers, while managing their social media channels and creating content for them.
Globally, esports is one of the fastest growing industries with an increasing number of brands sponsoring companies like EVOS.
Since 2017, the average sponsorship amount has increased drastically, from $10,000 to $500,000 per sponsor.
"We see the same trend happening in South-east Asia, where our top e-sports influencers earn around US$30,000 to US$60,000 a month – a hundred times higher than a typical fresh graduate's salary", mentioned Ang Teng Jen, EVOS chief strategic officer.
