The unicorn Indonesian company partnered with large consumer bank, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) and the global payment giant, Visa, to engage its PayLater card.
The PayLater card will offer online and offline payment transaction for Traveloka products and services, and payment with Visa’s 53 million merchants all over the world.
President of Traveloka’s operations Henry Hendrawan remarked that Traveloka intends to expand its fintech product and services in the future — this credit card offering is the first step.
By 2025, 57% of travel booking in the region will be online — PayLater can tap into the remaining offline market.
Henry Hendrawan affirmed the importance of this credit card service:
“We want to solve user pain points where currently many Indonesian consumers are forced to book their flights and hotels last minute due to a lack of credit access typically provided via credit card.”
