Program Assitant

Chinaccelerator a leading startup accelerator in China, is a mentorship-driven program assisting internet startups from around the world cross borders – from the world into China, and from China to the rest of the world. It is operated by the venture fund SOSV, which has $300M AUM and operates eight global accelerators. Chinaccelerator offers three months of rigorous guidance, training, and resources from mentors, partners, and investors. The robust and supportive alumni network continues into the startups’ post-Chinaccelerator lifespan. The Program assistant reports to the Program Manager and will work closely with program coordination and all staff across various departments. Your primary responsibility is assisting with the administration of our 6 month program (3 month intensive residential program + 3 month non-residential). Responsibilities: The responsibilities for this role are not limited to the below, there are times where you have to perform tasks that are out of the scope listed here. - Provides administrative support for the department Director and Managers as needed - Attends program related meetings and takes minutes. - Assists in overseeing the program schedule, planning and liaising with internal / external stakeholders on important action items to ensure program schedule runs smoothly at all times. - Assist in internal / external events planning. - Receives, sorts, analyzes, and summarizes material for the preparation of reports; maintains department records. - Prepares advanced word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation documents as assigned including manuals, brochures, reports, budget documents, and PowerPoint presentations, flyers, newsletters - Assists in the development of program evaluation tools, techniques, and methods - Reserves / set-up conference rooms and equipment for in-office meetings and presentations. - Schedules appointments and meetings for staff. - Assist in mentor database management and ensure that all our mentor process are run smoothly. - Assist in managing wiki platform (knowledge library) with latest information / knowledge for the startups and update all internal process on wiki. - Help to refine program / mentor / wiki management processes / systems - Have the opportunity to be involve in Corporation Innovation projects per ad-hoc basis Qualifications: The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to our mission to help Startups grow and scale. This position is integral to our work providing a smooth process to the internal team and startups. You are a doer, hardworking, avid learner, agile, good team work ethics, enthusiastic, proactive and take initiative, smart. Chinaccelerator is looking for a Program Manager to support a pre-accelerator program with an industrial manufacturing company headquartered in Europe. The Program Manager will support the pre-accelerator program and be the primary contact in Shanghai supporting a local and remote program team. The Program Manager plays a critical part on the program team, supporting our client as they apply lean startup and design thinking techniques to build new products. Primary Responsibilities: - Provide general coordination between the pre-accelerator program and other CA teams - Plan and manage onsite events including scheduling, venue management, budget ensuring the event goes smoothly - Liaise with corporate client to coordinate logistics - Manage online meetings and lectures - Manage and communicate the program schedule - Work with Program Coach to manage expenses and budget - Attend 1:1 weekly meetings and take notes on behalf of the program to mark progress of teams The Program Manager is - Organized and believes in planning and risk management - Committed to open communication - Committed to serving clients - Not afraid to point out problems or errors for the good of the team and project - Excited by innovation and entrepreneurship The Program Manager has: - 3-5 years of working experience in a logistics role - Event planning and management experience - Experience working with large corporates and Fortune 500 companies - Exposure to start-up culture and accelerators (desired) - Native Chinese speaker, fluent in English

At SOSV he is the Managing Director of Chinaccelerator the first accelerator to launch in Asia and the first to have a unicorn – Bitmex the largest crypto derivatives exchange in the world – go through its program. He is also Founder and Managing Director of MOX, the Mobile Only Accelerator with 167m smartphone users on its platform, helping mobile startups expand globally. William joined SOSV from SingTel Innov8 Ventures where he was a founding Managing Director supporting China investments. Prior to that William was a Partner at Softbank China & India Holdings, a venture capital firm backed by Softbank and Cisco, leading investments in China and South East Asia. Previously, William spent 11 years as an equity research analyst most recently with Deutsche Bank where he was responsible for Internet and Telecom Equipment in Asia and China Tech, Media and Telecom.
