The popular social media platform TikTok has been exploring partnerships with major Indonesian e-commerce companies, according to the country's Minister for Small-Medium Enterprises.
This comes after Indonesia banned online shopping directly through social media apps last month, impacting TikTok's e-commerce service TikTok Shop.
The minister revealed that TikTok has been in discussions with leading players like Tokopedia, Bukalapak and Blibli.
The goal would be to find a way for TikTok to continue enabling e-commerce transactions in compliance with Indonesia's new regulations.
TikTok's large user base of 125 million makes it critical for them to find a solution.
