Is it too early for investors to buy the dip?

I covered plenty of small-cap and Aim-traded companies on the Investors’ Chronicle 15 years ago; the allure of getting into the next big thing at the bottom had a particular appeal to our stockpicking readers.

Considering the pull back in US markets (the S&P 500 is down about 18 per cent year-to-date, and the tech-focused Nasdaq an even steeper 30 per cent) the urge to either “buy the dip” or change strategy is perhaps understandable.
