Momence is a next-gen booking and communications platform for experience-based businesses, such as a yoga & pilates studios, gyms, dance schools, salons & spas, golf facilities, swim schools, etc. We help over 1,500 businesses with scheduling & payments, communication, and automation of their business backend. We also have a customer-facing Momence app, where tens of thousands of customers book their wellness experiences every month. At Momence, we are bringing modern-day software into the experience economy, a growing part of the economy that is currently highly underserved by modern software.

About the team

The UI/UX Designer will join the team responsible for creating relevant and inspiring experiences for small businesses powered by easy-to-use and robust software. You will leverage user testing, customer insights, and our business strategy to deliver elegant desktop and mobile interfaces to make the scheduling and communication experience easy. We work quickly and collaboratively to validate new features, and then scale them across our platform.

Role Overview:

• Designing web products and interfaces that are visually appealing, intuitive, and easy to use.
• Guiding engineering with front-end implementation of features, advocating for pixel perfect.
• Conducting user research, including user testing and feedback, to inform product design decisions and ensure that the end product meets the needs of the target audience.
• Participating in the ideation process to identify solutions to major customer pain points.
• Building and maintaining design systems for the web.
• Creating wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications to guide development and ensure that the final product meets design standards and user needs.
• Communicating design concepts and ideas to cross-functional teams and stakeholders, and incorporating feedback into the design process.

We're looking for a candidate with a creative background, entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for great UX—a unique person that likes working with other unique people. Most of that will shine through during an interview; here’s what we expect to see on a resume:

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in product design, UX or related field.
• An online portfolio of work demonstrating innovation, and your design process.
• Proficiency in Figma and experience with prototyping.
• Ability to partner with product managers and engineering to balance technical, business, and customer requirements while keeping a user-centric design approach.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment.
• Experience designing experiences across mobile devices is a plus.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS and experience collaborating with developers to ensure that design concepts can be implemented.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions to design challenges.
