At IRL Studios, we are hiring a Unity Tools Engineer to refine our digital avatars & environments, focusing on optimizing current and future 3D asset pipelines. You’ll collaborate with our co-founders, engineers, artists, and designers across a wide variety of features.

What you'll do
- Design Content Delivery Systems: Create and enhance systems for delivering digital assets to multiple platforms within Unity (including VR, mobile, web, and PC).
- Optimize 3D Asset Bundling: Focus on improving and extending our asset pipeline, particularly for digital avatars, environments, and branded IP.
- Own Tooling Roadmap: Collaborate with various teams to guide the development of tools. Your partners will include backend, product, art, client engineering, and design.
- Manage Content Deployments: Lead the rollout of continuous content drops, including seasonal, event-based, and limited-time offerings.
- Advance Streaming Technology: Develop our streaming technology to ensure compatibility across various platforms (including VR, AR, web, mobile, and PC).
Qualifications
- Unity Proficiency: Deep expertise in Unity, particularly in Editor Scripting, Addressables, and Build processes.
- Experience with 3D Asset Pipelines: Proven track record in designing and shipping tooling to support artist 3D asset pipelines at scale.
- Understanding of Render Pipelines: Must have an in-depth grasp of Unity render pipelines and mobile device performance profiling.
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Prior experience working with diverse teams.
- VR Experience (Preferred): Having previously shipped VR experiences is a plus.
