At R2, we believe that small and medium businesses are the productive engine of society. Small and medium businesses (SMBs) make up over 90% of companies in Latin America, yet they face a trillion-dollar credit gap. Our mission is to unlock SMBs’ potential by providing financial solutions that are tailored to their needs. We are reimagining the financial infrastructure of Latin America - where SMBs financial needs are satisfied without ever having to go to a bank.
R2 enables platforms in Latin America to embed financial services that SMBs can then leverage (starting with revenue-based financing and buy now pay later for business customers). We are a tight knit team coming from organizations such as Google, Nubank, Uber, McKinsey & Co., Mercado Libre, Globant, J.P. Morgan, Clip, and Ualá. As a Frontend Engineer, we’re looking for a leader who can design and implement highly scalable UIs and its corresponding environment allowing our platform to be embedded into various third-party platforms, promoting a culture of technical learning, and pushing junior teammates to grow into excellent engineers.
What you'll work on
- Build, maintain and improve UIs around core business and infrastructure capabilities
- Work closely with product managers to deliver high quality user-oriented UI components
- Deliver features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members
- Ensure testing is in place for every delivered component
- Identify areas for improvement, be it in the frontend or backend of our platform
- Ensure delivery of mission-critical systems with tight deadlines
- Research and invest in new tooling to improve services
- Think about security throughout everything you do
- Promote a culture that fosters learning, growth, risk-taking, and accountability
- Work with other teams to figure out how to build tools to make them more productive
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience with frontend frameworks and technologies - mainly React, but also SSR
- You love to write code in Typescript
- Proficient with testing frameworks such as Mocha, JEST, Jasmine, Karma
- Like to own your software stack: Deploy it, Monitor it, Alert on it!
- Good communication skills and great team player
- Fan of writing excellent API documentation
- Proficient in both English and Spanish (or Portuguese) - the team is distributed in LatAm
Bonus Points
- Familiar with MUI
- Used to work around the “business domain” concept
- Worked with automation frameworks (Puppeteer)
