Role Description

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team of 12 engineers to build and maintain our web application. This individual will have an impact on the millions of people starting their careers, by helping to level the recruitment playing field.

Forage is looking for someone who actively participates in team conversations, listens to other voices and opinions, and enjoys helping the team to make sound technical decisions.

This is someone that enjoys being an individual contributor but also cares about helping the team to succeed together. This individual likes learning new technologies and is comfortable working in a constantly changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Work within the engineering team to build and deploy product features that ship to a million and more users
• Participate in the design of technical solutions with consideration to long-term impact and improvements
• Collaborate with other engineers across our teams to deliver on the engineering roadmap, improve the quality of our codebase, and establish good coding practices
• Support junior engineers on the team
• Contribute to a team culture of inclusion, collaboration, and psychological safety
• Contributing to our engineering vision, which sets a direction for the team

Your Experience

Technical Skills

• Previous experience working on web applications
• Proficient in Javascript and Node
• Experience working on complex web applications, ideally with React or similar frontend frameworks
• You have a solid knowledge of modern JavaScript, version control, and databases. TypeScript, is a bonus.
• Experience building user-facing products
• Experience building and writing automated tests
• Solid communication skills
