We are seeking a versatile full stack software engineer to develop core infrastructure supporting 64x’s revolutionary screening platform. In this position, you will build the data and analytical systems that allow our scientists to develop key enabling technologies for cell and gene therapies. Your knowledge of modern software tools and best practices will help 64x create a robust, maintainable data infrastructure. This role affords opportunities to take on increasing levels of technical leadership as your skills advance. Genomics and life science experience is not required but highly desirable.
Responsibilities
-Build and maintain the computational infrastructure to support a variety of databases, analytical pipelines, analysis tools, and data visualizations.
-Collaborate with 64x Scientists to identify project needs and build systems that enable comprehensive data tracking and quality control.
-Develop software to analyze and visualize results in the context of known biological pathways and regulatory elements.
-Support appropriate software development best practices across 64x’s programmer and informatics teams.
About You
-BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics with demonstrated programming proficiency.
-3+ years of experience coding as a key contributor in a larger team.
-Strong knowledge of Python required, with some experience using SQL, Flask, JavaScript, NumPy/SciPy, D3js, R and similar.
-Experience with local and/or cloud-based HPC environments.
-Experience with database integration, maintenance, and optimization.
-Interest in developing both back-end and front-end systems.
-Demonstrated ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems quickly.
-Ability to reprioritize throughout the day and week as new needs arise in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
-Strong organizational skills and ability to systematically and effectively multitask/advance many projects simultaneously.
-Very strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with a wide array of personalities and work styles.
-Experience leading software project teams preferred.
-Familiarity with modern genomics, high-throughput sequencing, single cell technology, transcriptomics and/or molecular biology is highly desirable.
