Lantern is a Y Combinator W2024 startup, and we're looking for ambitious people who want to join us!
Lantern is building a PostgreSQL database built for storing vector data used to build AI applications. We're hiring our first engineer.
This is a cool opportunity because:
- AI is for every single enterprise in every single industry. We're in the earliest innings. It's time to build.
- AI is exploding with popularity now, and for good reason.
- We help businesses build AI applications.
- The team is competitive, ambitious, and we like to have fun.
- We're going to ship fast. It's cool to take something from 0 to 1. It's also cool to take something from 1 to IPO.
- We can compensate well.
- This is the founder's second time going through Y Combinator!
Here's who we're looking for:
- You have the fire. You're enthusiastic about Lantern, you want to build, and do cool stuff. Talk is cheap. Code isn't.
- Experience with large projects in C, C++, or Rust (ideally with example projects in Github)
- Experience with distributed systems, databases, or open-source projects
- Working knowledge of operating systems and networking
Some details about responsibilities and possible projects:
- Design and develop new database capabilities, including analytics, clustering and distributed operations, query and storage optimizations, and more
- Develop, test, and release new features and functionality from our database technical roadmap.
- Continually improve, optimize, and test existing functionality of Lantern.
- Build a cloud-hosted version of Lantern that's ready to handle the biggest enterprises.
Please reach out if you fit the bill, hope we end up building cool things together.
