What We Do
Fynn is rebuilding the American middle class by helping people become nurses, welders, mechanics, and other vital skill-based careers.
We went through YC in 2019 and are a small, well-funded company. You'll be joining an experienced team with senior leadership, that has deep expertise in lending and capital markets. We are seeking a detail-oriented, entrepreneurial product designer to help create genuinely innovative products in a traditionally underserved and overlooked sector. You will be the first in-house product hire reporting directly to our co-founder and head of product. You'll own the entire design system and will partner closely with our business development & engineering team, using your product, visual, and experience design skills to meet the needs of our schools, students, and employers.
About You
- User-obsessed. User experience and user journey are central to how you design and iterate. You care about the why, not just the how.
- Attention to detail. You understand the complex paths each user takes and take care to craft each flow.
- Systems thinking. We have a three-sided marketplace, with b2b and b2c elements. They all must work together.
- Collaborative. You’re at the hub of engineering, compliance, credit risk, and business development.
- Flexible. You've worked in fast-paced environments, and you thrive in turning ambiguity into order.
You Will
- Architect and own the design systems, visual identity, and user experience from the ground up to scale with our product and team.
- Collaborate across the company to create new and innovative financial products for a new generation of skilled workers.
- Learn the ins and outs of the complicated, regulated world of lending with the help of our GC and Head of Credit Risk.
- Use Figma to design new features across our web app, application portal, and new projects
- Deeply understand and serve the needs of our employers, students, and schools.
- Partner with our users to test concepts and synthesize feedback for our business development & engineering team.
- Lead design reviews and share your work with leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with data scientists to test the efficiency of new products and features.
