Joon is an app for parents with ADHD kids that uses gamification to help their kids become more responsible and independent. Imagine Pokemon, but you only level up if you do productive activities in real-life (like chores, schoolwork, exercising, and hundreds of others).
We've been growing incredibly fast since launching, have thousands of paying subscribers, and are looking to further build out our engineering team as we scale.
We're a co-founding team of engineers, designers and operators and backed by investors like Y Combinator, Goodwater Capital, Arash Ferdowsi (Dropbox), Austen Allred, Hiten Shah and a variety of other amazing investors in the consumer, digital media, and gaming spaces.
Opportunity
We're hiring a Backend Software Engineer to join our core product team and lead backend development. You'd be working directly with the CTO, refining and building out the backend behind Joon.
- Lead high-level system and technical design of our backend, building for scale
- Develop in Django/Python
- Work closely with our CEO and CTO and directly impact the product & company roadmap
- Collaborate with our engineering team to make sure services are hooked up properly
- Create documentation for system design and APIs
Required Qualifications:
- You are highly motivated and a self-starter
- You have 2 or more years of experience in backend development
- You have experience building consumer-facing software
Nice to have
- You have worked on consumer-facing game / gamification products before
- You've built and scaled robust backends before
- Deep experience in Django, Python, SQL, Google Cloud Platform
