Rails + React Developer

Tech stack: at least some experience in both Rails and React and deep expertise in at least one of them

• Ruby on Rails (Expert) - we are on rails 6 and ruby 3
• React (Experienced) - (we use hooks + redux)
• Ionic (Nice to have)
• Capacitor / other mobile hybrid app generators (i.e. Cordova, PhoneGap) (Nice to have)
• Figma (Nice to have)

Requirements:

• Full-stack web and hybrid mobile app developer
• Ruby on Rails expertise building complex backend logic and high-performant APIs
• React experience building dynamic front ends with great user experiences
• Deploying PWAs, iOS and Android apps using 1 code base (via Capacitor, Cordova, or another plugin)
• Ability to work independently and break down larger tasks into subtasks, ask questions to clarify and better understand, mock-up a low-fidelity draft when it makes sense, ask for feedback and iterate
• Focus on proper coding style, especially single responsibility and DRY principles
• Using good testing principles to automatically check use-cases are still handled after code changes

Role:

• Build full-stack automation features in Rails + React
• Utilize a mock-up → functional → optimized approach to building features
• Own end-to-end user flows (user experience, functionality, flexibility for different client needs)
• Write well-structured and well-tested code to decrease technical debt and increase platform flexibility

Location preference: Fully remote is fine but we have developers in the following locations already

3. SF
4. LA

• Company off-sites 2x per year (Austin, NYC, The Hamptons)
