PowerX is hiring our first Product Manager to develop our solution for businesses to manage and optimize energy consumption and costs.

About PowerX

PowerX is building energy management solutions for businesses, starting with restaurants. We believe that by equipping restaurants with the best tools to use less energy and save money, we can tackle climate change, one store at a time. We deploy a software solution that is powered by modern sensor and control technologies to help operators measure, manage, and automate energy usage across their sites.

We are an early stage climate tech startup. You would be the first product manager for our solution for restaurant operators, working closely with engineering, marketing, sales, and operations and reporting to the CEO and to help us find product market fit. We are a fully distributed, remote-first company with team members today in EST and PST.

What you will do

• Drive product strategy across the entire product life cycle for customers, starting with the restaurant vertical
• Ruthlessly prioritize product roadmap based on customer insights and market signals
• Work closely with customers to understand their needs and the business value of our products
• Translate functional user needs into technical product requirements through detailed product specifications, business rationale, use cases and user stories
• Partner with the Engineering and Design teams through technical discussions, sprint planning and launches across hardware, firmware and software
• Collaborate with the leadership team to align product strategy with the company's mission, vision, and business goals
• Collect and analyze quantitative data and qualitative research to inform product development, pricing, and go to market strategy; identify, prioritize, and iterate on product opportunities as well as existing features
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective go-to-market strategies, product positioning, and communication plans
• Provide product training and support to sales and customer support teams to ensure a deep understanding of the product's value proposition and key features
• Stay ahead of industry best practices, technological advancements, and emerging trends in climate tech and related sectors

About you

• Experience as a PM at a fast-paced company; previous experience with hardware-enabled SaaS, climate tech or energy is helpful
• Familiarity with building, supporting, and managing services with hardware and software
• A track record of distilling complex and ambiguous problems into actionable plans
• Ability to gather, research, and analyze data from multiple sources (market data, customer services, sales) and subsequently define business requirements and MVPs
• Cross-functional knowledge and ability to participate in technical discussions with engineers as well as discuss energy management products with non-technical customers
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills to identify needs, explain features, articulate decisions, and gain alignment to drive projects forward
• Active listening skills and a level of curiosity to elicit and understand customer business challenges
• A collaborative approach and an ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships
• Intellectual curiosity, self awareness, and ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-moving startup environment

What we offer

• Salary range $132,000 to $198,000 plus competitive equity
