Who We Are
Magna’s goal is to be the one-stop solution for all token-based crypto companies who want to track outstanding and promised token allocations, automate the distribution of those tokens, and manage information about their stakeholders. Some liken us to “Carta for Web3”.
Our mission is to make it easier for crypto companies to manage their tokens and tokenholders so that they can focus on their product and not custom internal tools and smart contracts as they scale. We work with projects of all sizes throughout various L1 & L2 ecosystems.
Tokens are amongst the core assets crypto companies use to compensate and incentivize investors, employees, advisors, and even community members. The most common use cases for Magna include:
-
Token Vesting to employees and investors - Automated token distribution based on custom unlock schedules.
-
Token Streaming - Continuous distribution of tokens to stakeholders.
-
Airdrops - Vested airdrops to community members.
-
Programmable Unlocks – Distributing tokens using our SDK based on contract interactions or in-app/in-game accomplishments.
-
Stakeholder Management – Tracking tax liability and legal filings for tokenholders and more.
Magna’s platform is used by investors, employees, accountants, lawyers, and other key stakeholders throughout the crypto ecosystem.
Why Work at Magna?
-
We’re a highly technical team
-
We’re a well-funded company with runway that can last us through the bear market (as long as that may be)
-
A downtown Manhattan office with our own rooftop – we operate on a hybrid model, where most employees come in a couple of times per week.
-
Hardware — Whatever you need to get things done, plus a stipend to set up your home office.
-
Learning budget — Buy courses and attend conferences or hackathons.
-
Unlimited Vacation — Take time off when you need it - 2 week minimum.
-
Top-notch healthcare plans — We offer the best available platinum PPO and other similar plans that give you the most options with the lowest deductibles.
About the Role
Magna’s platform touches a number of different stakeholders throughout the token lifecycle. Within client companies, Magna will be used across internal teams, from Finance to HR and Legal. Given the complex nature of token allocations, stakeholders that clients distribute to, including investors and employees, will interact with Magna’s UI on a regular basis to understand and track their token allocation.
The far-reaching impact of Magna across the board demands a well-designed product, with carefully crafted workflows. We further recognize that trust in the crypto ecosystem is at a low-point. Magna seeks to build products that provide transparency into the relationships between projects, employees and investors.
We’re looking for a Product Design Lead to be the driving force behind streamlining the workflows that target our users’ pain-points, ensuring smooth UX across the board. You will be hands-on, leading design work, user research and working directly with the engineering team to create an intuitive product. As the main leader of our Design team, you’ll take the lead on researching, designing, and prototyping new products, as well as continuously improving our current products.
The ideal candidate has experience designing complex products (such as in fintech or enterprise SaaS), a strong understanding of user-centered design principles, and a passion for creating beautiful and intuitive experiences. If you posses this experience and believe in the importance of transparency for the longevity of the industry, we highly welcome you to apply.
Candidates that live in or are willing to relocate to NYC are strongly preferred, though we are open to remote work for the right candidates.
What you’ll do
-
Take ownership of the product. You will help prioritize features based on business objectives, user insights and daily operations, and make strategic decisions about our roadmap.
-
Use customer insights, data and usability testing to form a deep understanding of users’ pain points.
-
Lead wireframing and concept development for new requirements and features.
-
User research and testing
-
Work with development teams to implement designs
-
Contribute to the decision-making about product direction based on user feedback
-
Define storytelling around product needs and opportunities
What we’re looking for
-
3+ years of experience as a designer.
-
Advanced knowledge of Figma.
-
Experience building, extending, and working within a design system
-
A strong point of view on design direction with an openness to new ideas
Reasons you might be the right candidate for this role:
-
Excited by elevating design in a rapidly growing industry — genuine passion and curiosity for the craft that you bring to work each day, with an interest in onboarding the next billion users onto the blockchain
-
Good taste — You apply good judgment to every design and implementation decision, thinking about the engineering feasibility of designs
