About the role
As a dedicated People Ops Manager at Firstbase, you will provide the critical and necessary support to all Firstbase employees, both US-based and international. This is a unique opportunity to execute some of the more traditional HR functions including employee onboarding, benefits administration, and payroll; however, you will be on the frontline of developing the Firstbase culture.
Our ideal candidate has experience executing existing playbook HR processes and developing new playbooks and processes to develop a strong culture in a remote-first, global company environment. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of a lot of the People Ops responsibilities, so taking the initiative and ownership of the role will be critical to your success and the success of the company.

Who are we looking for
We are looking for risk-takers with diverse experience able to provide fearless feedback.
You will have the following duties
- Performance Management: Review and manage our performance review and compensation process through collaboration with key stakeholders; propose improvements and work across departments to roll out changes
- Company Culture: Continue building the company culture by developing effective programs and initiatives that keep our employees engaged, closely knit and motivated, especially in a global remote-first work environment
- Technologies: Manage our key HR platforms, software management and other tools to ensure employees have what they need
- Compliance: Oversee employment, benefits, compliance and payroll
- Benefits: Work with the organization to revamp our benefits package including health insurance, employee stipends and more
- Payroll: Manage and run payroll for our both our US and non-US teams
- Onboarding & Off-boarding: Own and manage our new-hire pre-boarding, onboarding and off-boarding experience, including: background checks, I-9 verification, benefits enrollment, equipment provisioning, etc
You should meet the following requirements
- At least 4-5 years of HR experience, preferably in the tech industry and preferably with both US-based and international teams
- Experience executing payroll
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels in an organization
- Thrives on building new processes while maintaining strong documentation of existing processes
- Action-oriented with a priority in building a transparent culture
