We’re growing, which means we need to get (a lot) more serious about things like security and how our IT operations are run. We need help ensuring the security and smooth operation of business systems and technology infrastructure and need someone to join our team as an Operations & Security Engineer to make sure we’re running a tighter ship.
A bit about the role
As an Operations & Security Engineer, you will be responsible for managing access to our systems, setting up user accounts, and managing permissions. You will work closely with the Engineering and People teams to ensure that our systems are secure, and perform regular security audits. You will also develop and implement security policies, procedures, and guidelines to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Reporting to the CTO, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners to construct compliance strategy and governance for TGA/FDA and similar regimes. You would also be able to provide recommendations and implement security controls to mitigate risks, conduct incident response and investigation, and develop and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Let’s talk about you
To be successful in this role, you’d bring a strong background or experience in a similar security or operations role. Your experience in implementing security policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as conducting security audits and investigations would be highly sought after for what we’re hoping to build. Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR would also be highly sought after for this role.
We're looking for someone with strong communication skills and the ability to educate and train others on security awareness and best practices, including phishing and scam email prevention. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, this role will work closely with Engineering and People teams to implement all necessary security initiatives across the company.
Our team is pretty flexible in terms of working, however there will be in-person work required from time-to-time, at our office in Cremorne, VIC so we’d love to see applications from those based in Melbourne.
