Job description
Overview:
Revl is looking for a detail oriented, communicative data scientist to support our Software team. This role is a core contributor to the company that enables our ability to automatically edit videos for our customers. Revl is quickly expanding the types of video we are handling and needs to create and improve our machine learning models to deliver the highest quality end product possible under a wide range of scenarios. This role will collaborate not just with with our software team, but across the organization to help understand our current limitations and expand on the possibilities of our company. There is a very large amount of data to work with, and simple tools to tag data and train models. At times we need to create a model to deploy an MVP for a customer, but the role is primarily meant to behave in an R&D capacity. That is, spending time understanding the data, our customers, testing out ideas for improvements, and communicating back to the software team and the company.
Required Skills:
- Strong communications skills with both technical and non-technical individuals.
- Capable of taking complete ownership of a project and seeing it through all phases of its development.
- Able to collaborate within a team of developers and engineers to ensure successful operation of models within the existing platform.
- Experience with a machine learning toolkit such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Experience working with Neural Networks and Machine Learning algorithms.
- Experience working with Python.
- Manual QA experience
- Detail oriented
- 2+ years experience writing software for testing or otherwise
Preferred Skills:
- A degree or certification in a Machine Learning related field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, or related.
- Experience with a non-scripting programing language such as c++, Rust, or similar.
- Familiarity with Audio/Video standards and how they work.
- Familiarity with FFMPEG.
