Job Description

Harmonic Discovery is looking for a part-time or full-time Machine Learning Intern. We are recruiting undergraduate and graduate machine learning students to help build our computational platform with the aim to discover the next generation of medicines to treat diseases such as cancer. Harmonic Discovery offers a hands-on machine learning and data science experience for interested students. You will

• Work on compound and protein feature engineering

• Train machine learning models for compound activity prediction

• Work with deep learning models for de novo compound generation

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or Graduate student in the field of Machine Learning, Statistics or other STEM, enthusiastic about application of computational methods to drug discovery

• Strong Python programming skills

• Experience with Python libraries such as scikitlearn, matplotlib, numpy, etc. 

• Experience in bash and shell scripting

• Knowledge of statistics and computer science

• Experience in developing machine learning models

• Great communication skills and ability to communicate effectively using tools such as PowerPoint

Preferred skills

• Experience with generative machine learning models for chemistry

• Experience with deep learning platforms, such as TensorFlow, H2O.ai, and PyTorch

Currently available approaches for creating drugs work on the principal of finding one drug-one protein 'magic bullets'.
