As a Machine Learning Engineering Intern at Flagright, you will work on designing and developing algorithms and models that drive intelligent decision-making across our services. This will be accomplished by implementing end-to-end data workflows, processing, tagging, and publishing, with an eye towards improving ML model performance over time. You will be asked to coordinate internal and external resources, technology stack and algorithmic approach.
This is a remote position, so you will need to be self-motivated and able to work independently under minimal supervision. 🛠 You will
- Be a core contributor to Flagright’s v1 machine learning infrastructure.
- Apply machine learning techniques to solve complex problems across various real world use cases like anti-fraud and financial crime prevention.
- Scope, design and implement solutions that make the appropriate tradeoffs between resiliency, durability, and performance while maintaining a high level of data quality.
- Work with large datasets and develop efficient data processing pipelines
- Build the infrastructure that can enable the development, training and testing of machine learning models.
- Build the systems that ensure the models are performant, scalable and robust
- Design and develop software solutions that incorporate machine learning models into Flagright’s core anti-fincrime software.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in machine learning and apply them to our products and services
🙌 Your profile
- Currently pursuing a master's degree in machine learning, or an engineering focused field with focus on Machine * Learning, at a US, UK, or EU university.
2+ years of work experience in machine learning engineering or a related field
- Fluency in python or an equivalent language for modern backend development
- Strong experience with Cloud architectures (e.g. AWS, GCP)
- Proficiency with popular open-source machine learning frameworks (scikit-learn, MLlib, pytorch, tensorflow, xgboost, etc.).
- Experience developing foundational and diverse data sources, and generating metrics to measure service and program effectiveness.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal

- Experience in building machine learning infrastructure and data pipelines
- Previous experience in data engineering domain
- Good understanding of parallel computing, system efficiency and scalability
- Previous experience or a background in finance and/or fintech.
- Curiosity, pragmatism, fast learner and ability to bring a new perspective to our team.
- Experience in considering Information Security criteria under SOC 2, GDPR, and CCPA
