Data underpins everything we do at Deepgram. Our scale has grown so fast we need to rethink our entire data infrastructure and adopt technology that can scale with our growing business.
We need an experienced Lead Data Engineer to build completely new data pipelines to enable Deepgram to reach the next level of scale. As our Lead Data Engineer, you will own the data pipelines that will feed a new data warehouse and it will be a critical role to work cross functionally with stakeholders. You will have an opportunity to make critical design choices to build new infrastructure that will have a direct impact on the business. In this role, you will be able to showcase your deep understanding of both technical tradeoffs and business needs.

What You’ll Achieve
-Design, build, and launch efficient and reliable data pipelines to move data across multiple platforms.
-Make best in class choices for scalable technologiesSelect and implement database and data pipeline solutions that underpin a massively scalable data platform.
-Partner with leadership, engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data security needs.
-Use your data and analytics experience to identify and address gaps in our existing pipelines and processes.
-Build data expertise and own data quality end to end.

It’s Important To Us That You Have
-3+ years of experience in large-scale data engineering, including tools such as Redshift, Big Query, Databricks, Hadoop, Spark, PySpark
-Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture and data processing.
-Strong understanding of major database systems, e.g. SQLl, NoSQL, etc.
It Would Be Great if You Had
-Competence with Python (preferably 2+ years).
-Familiarity navigating UNIX-style systems.
-Team leadership experience
