We are looking for a driven and dynamic Business Development Representative to join our team at AuthZed. This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in our growth by helping to introduce our cutting-edge authorization solutions to potential clients. Your focus will be on identifying and qualifying leads, reaching out to potential customers, and smoothly transitioning qualified opportunities to Account Executives. Your efforts will be crucial in driving our growth by building a strong pipeline, fostering initial relationships, and laying the foundation for long-term partnerships.

What You’ll Do


  • Build pipeline! Proactively identify, engage, and qualify self-sourced opportunities, and engage and qualify marketing generated leads for the sales team.
  • Collaborate: Work with Account Executives to strategize on account outreach and the marketing team to create campaigns and qualify leads.
  • Guide our prospects: Bring a strong understanding of our products to your initial conversations and develop a reputation as a trusted resource; guiding prospects through the early stages of the sales process and preparing them for deeper engagement.
  • Impact go-to-market strategy: Provide valuable insights that help refine our marketing strategies and product offerings, working closely with our marketing, product, and engineering teams.

This role offers significant growth potential within AuthZed. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to advance to an Account Executive role or potentially lead and coach a developing BDR team as we expand.

Position Requirements


Essential Qualifications


  • Experience: 1 to 3 years in a BDR role within the software industry, preferably database or similar infrastructure software, with direct involvement in lead generation and qualification across Enterprise (> 1000 employees) and Strategic (> 5000 employees) segments.
  • Sales Tools: Strong understanding of CRM systems, sales engagement platforms, and other lead generation tooling.

  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging and building relationships with potential customers and internal teams.
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and drive measurable outcomes under tight deadlines.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, understand market trends, and provide insights to support business decisions.
  • Negotiation Skills: Understanding of how to identify and overcome objectives to achieve a desired outcome.
  • Self-motivated: You set and achieve your goals and have a proven track record of meeting/exceeding targets
  • Technical aptitude: You understand technical concepts like relational databases, APIs, Kubernetes, and public clouds, and can articulate what they are and the value they provide.

Desirable Qualifications


  • Automation: Experience integrating software via tools like Zapier, or directly leveraging APIs and related documentation, to drive efficiency.
  • Leadership Potential: Ambition to grow into a managerial role, with potential future responsibilities in hiring and coaching a developing team.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with product-led sales strategies and an understanding of large organizations' engineering org structures is highly desirable.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
