Hive is an email marketing CRM used by brands to personalize and automate their marketing. We pride ourselves on helping brands keep their customers engaged, sell more, and continually improve their marketing.
We integrate with partners like Shopify and Ticketmaster to let brands act on their customer data in real-time, so they can easily segment customers and send perfectly targeted and customized emails & SMS.
We started our company in a University of Waterloo computer lab in early 2014, graduated from Y Combinator that summer (S14 batch) and have been growing ever since. You’ll join our team in Canada (hive.co/careers).
We’re looking for a passionate Product Manager to work alongside our engineering team to ensure we’re making good decisions and building as effectively as possible - while coordinating with other teams at Hive to communicate what/why we’re building (and not building) and the value it will bring to our customers.
You’ll be the first hire on the Product team and will get to dictate the tools we use, the systems we build and the processes that we follow.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the roadmap - helping us drive as much impact as possible each development cycle, and find a home for valuable ideas that we’re not ready to build yet
- Talk to customers, understand their problems, and translate these into opportunities for the business
- Articulate your hypotheses clearly, validate them early and repeatedly, and know when to prototype, gather more data, or start fresh
- Work with our developers to translate incoming items on the roadmap into clearly specced out tasks to be built
- Help the team understand why we make the decisions we make, and how the product we ship will impact our customers
- Work with marketing and CX to drive feature adoption
- Work with sales and partnerships to ensure we’re leveraging product to drive new business
Who you are:
- 5 + years of product experience at a software company - bonus points for SaaS or martech experience
- Strong design skills and familiarity with at least 1 common design tool (we prefer Figma)
- Familiarity with coding - you don’t need to be a CS major, but you should have a strong enough technical background to navigate your way through the more complex requirements of our product and infrastructure
- Strong data analytics skills (SQL skills a bonus) and the ability to formulate analyses to answer key product questions
- An insistence to work in a fast-paced, iterative environment
- Excellent communication skills, paired with resourcefulness and the ability to act autonomously
- Business sense - you can constantly spot and contrast various approaches to building the business, and enjoy assessing tradeoffs to make decisions
Bottom line... We're looking for curious, hardworking, down-to-earth people - who are passionate about product.
You'll be well taken care of: meaningful equity, salary, and the benefits you need to be happy and healthy. Most importantly, we’ll learn a ton together, and have a nice time.
